This is the last day. We are barely surviving... we are not kidding! We already have everything packed up, it is in the car, and we are ready to hit the road and get somewhere that has a clean bathroom!
We saw a ton of great shows yesterday. We tried to keep our distance from the crowd yesterday so that we could experience the rave that started at 1:30. Jason and I took a nap in the sun and "people watched" for several hours during Dave Matthews and Alanis. It was a perfect day, and there is no better place on earth right now to relax, listen to some great tunes and people watch! There are every kind here!
Later in the day after we at some great cardboard pizza we set up for the main show. Metallica! The place was packed and blazing last night as they took the stage around midnight. It was such as wild site as they announced that a storm was moving into the area. They stripped down the huge banners on the stage and prepared for the worst, but it only rained enough to cool everyone down and revive the crowd for another hour of music. We have seen some strange sites this weekend. Some of the strangest were created by the crowd as a whole! During the show last night as the temp dropped, and the wind started to gust, the crowd was whipped into a furry and for some strange reason about half the crowd started to throw their water bottles in the air. Sounds strange, but it was a really cool sight to see the wind blazing through 200,000 people, as the lights flashed and 10,000 water bottles flew through the air. Weird. Something that I can't describe, but it will be one of those strange sites that I will never forget.
We are going to do some shopping today and just chill as we prepare for our ride home tonight. Rusted Root is on today and Brian Setzer. It should be a good hot time. Now all we need is to find some good food and try to stay clear of the bad porta pots and we should have a perfect day!
