We have treked three days in the interesting, yet exciting world of Woodstock 99. The facilities seem to have been holding up quite good until I woke up this morning. I woke up to an extremely hot and sticky tent because of the late night rain we had friday night. I also woke up to the loud ladies in the tent next to ours bickering about how there is not anymore water on our side of the acres of camping area. There is also atleast a 3 hour wait to get the chance to take a shower. I elected to walk the mile to the west stage where you would find what I call glorified drinking fountains. Yes, this is what we have been using to do most of our cleaning up. This morning I started to notice that there is a massive amount of trash beginning to pile up on every piece of vacant land that could be found. Part from the stages, people and music it seems as if we are in the midst of a mix between a land fill and a boot camp.
We had this brilliant idea of heading into the town of Rome. We took the first bus that we could find, however when the bus dropped us off we were basically not in Rome, but in the middle of no where. So the eleven of the people who had joined us from our tent circle tried to catch a ride with some fellow woodstockers from Buffalo New York. We jumped into the back of the truck to wisk us off to an even more in the middle of the place. At this point we grabbed a couple of pictures with the New York State Police Department and headed back to Woodstock. Never the less, we never found Rome, but the adventure that we took was worth the time away from woodstock.
We are on our way to make another attempt to get out of woodstock to venture into the town of Rome to get to some real civilization. Talk to you soon, Metalica is on at 11:15 pm tonight. Look for it on Pay-Per-View.
