Alright, I've been to Woodstock 94 and 99, 2 mardis gras in New Orleans, and 2 weekend/camping Phish shows. I had a great time at all of them, Woodstock 99 is somewhere at the top of the list. All were very different, making it difficult to compare. Woodstock 99 didn't have a lot of bands I really liked, but I don't like Pearl Jam, etc either. I only really cared about Counting Crows, but the weekend was much more than that. I met some great people, got a nice mini vacation where I didn't have to worry about anything. There wasn't really anything there that I haven't seen before, but it was still a unique expereience. For the many who were doing this for the first time, it was life altering in many ways. Woodstock may change from 69 to 94 to 99, but so have the people. I personally was annoyed by people who only seemed to care about seeing people naked, but if that's what they consider a good time and it made their weekend, than that's all that matters. I got what I wanted out of it and so did 250,000 other people. So what if there were 250,000 different opinions about what made the weekend great? The point is it WAS great. I got to go into another world for a weekend so different than the world we're forced to live in, that in itself is worth it. Than there are the infinite other things on top of that. You haven't considered all the countless intangibles. You are naive if you think that you've already experienced
everything that Woodstock 99 was. It was very different from 94 and from anything else I've done. And I've pretty much done it all.
