Please understand that the presumed security
force at woodstock was a complete sham. I was an
information volunteer at Woodstock and talked to
the guys on the "force" on many occaisions. We
were led to believe that this force would consist
of "off-duty" police, security guards, etc.

Well guess what? They were from a staffing service in
NY/NYC. That's right, they were temps. Sort of
like the temps that might come in to your work to
do some extra filing or typing when the workload
is heavy.

And, the company that hired them told them that
on top of their hourly rate, they would receive
room and board. Well they forgot to mention that
they would be staying in housing with no hot
water to shower and guess what? that pissed them
off. So after the first day a percentage
of the "force" left and went home. And needless
to say that those who remained were quite
indifferent about their role.

The remaining Peace patrol decided that our
(Woodstock Family Volunteers) housing area might
be better than theirs so they started to rampage
through our housing on the second night, breaking
into cars and houses and starting fires. The
state police had to come to physically remove
the peace patrol and they were banned from
entering our housing area for the remainder of
the event.

How's that for a well-trained security force?
