Here's a viewpoint from an adult who was 12 at the time of the first Woodstock. I believe we live in a different world than that of 1969. We are a more violent society. In 1969 the youth were looking for "peace", the vietnam war was raging, communes were flourishing and integration of blacks and whites was finally being accepted( at least by the majority of youth).What happened there was "magical" and could never really be repeated. Look at the types of bands who were playing and the titles of songs. They promoted violence. Most youth are not affected by this but the ones who are spoil it for the rest. I think overall it went well until the end. Someone made reference to the europeon soccer games having more destruction and violence than this.I don't know if they will venture to have another in 2004, I guess it depends what the world around is is like then.
