Hey! I'll give you the short version. Yes the Chili Peppers were the last band of WS99. Fires began as small bonfires AFTER WS handed out candles to everyone! Their mistake. The bonfires began as a couple small ones and turned into what I counted as 11 huge blazes. The media is embelishing what really happened. They are saying that we turned into animals and savages, but that is truly not the case. Yes, we did burn Rome (no pun intended, haha) but it was for many reasons: They handed out candles for one thing, fires got out of hand, people had a lot of pent up animosity to what was going on with prices, no showers, no bathrooms (many were turned over or too full to use) no water, trash piling up everywhere, and so on and so forth. We did not have a problem all weekend until the last few hours. The fires spread to twelve tractor trailers and they all caught on fire with propane tanks near them. The Woodstckians also turned over a brand new Mercedes Benz and beat it to a pulp and tried to set it on fire several times. Many turned over trash barrels and beat them to a tribal beat. At the press conference with Michael Lang, I believe he ate his words when he said "...they said the walls wouldn't hold, and they did, that security would fail, and it hasn't, and...." Well Mr. Lang ate his words. Before the press conference, the walls were already coming down, and about 50% of security walked off the job because it was so unorganized with no one knowing what was going with security checks, what we were and were not allowed to bring in, and so forth. I also witnessed MANY Peace Patrollers (security) and medical personell that were high and/or drunk. This is true because I witnessed it with my own eyes. There is more to tell so I will post later.
